Foreign luxury brand Maria&Donato uses NFC to identi

The handmade leather goods manufacturer MARIA&DONATO integrated Thinfilm's NFC RFID tags into its handbag products to deal with the increasing counterfeiting and fraud in the luxury goods market. Thinfilm’s SpeedTap tags can be read by smartphones, allowing consumers to better understand the brand and products, or to purchase limited edition handbags online.

The SpeedTap tag is a product of the Thinfilm OpenSense product line. The tag can detect the "factory sealed" and "open" status of the product, and can be read by an NFC mobile phone. The NFC chip built into SpeedTap is manufactured using a printing process.

These labels were originally designed to be used on bottles to verify the contents of the bottle or remind the seal that the seal was opened. SpeedTap tags support 13.56MHz HF fixed or handheld NFC RFID readers for reading. The tags have 128-bit read-only memory and are compatible with ISO 14443 Type A RFID standards.

The label supports commonly used data structures, such as 96-bit GS1 EPC, with a thickness of less than 300 microns, which can be integrated in the product packaging or label.

Maria&Donato product development manager Javier Villaverde said: “We believe that every Maria&Donato handbag is a work of art, so product authenticity verification is an important part of the customer experience. Thimfilm’s SpeedTap technology can help us improve the anti-counterfeiting effect and bring our customers Bring the desired satisfaction."

Starting on July 24, 2016, distributors will begin to provide handbags with built-in Thimfilm tags, and Maria&Donato will also be officially exhibited at Pure London. Consumers can book online in the next few days.
